My usual poker look

UPDATE

I have posted dates for the Borgata Winter Open below. Hope to see some of you at the final table. If I make the money or the TV I will let you know.

I played a lot of poker in Florida. They have a few Indian Casinos, but you can also play at the greyhound tracks. They do have very low limits though. $1 and $2 structured betting, with an $8 cap per betting round. So needless to say the pots aren't huge and more than a few idiots stay in all the way to the river no matter what. Very frustrating. I played in a weekly no-limit tourney with a $100 buy-in. I finished 8th one week and 5th another. I made some decent money while I was there.

Today I started the final round of the 3 day Pokerstars.com TLB (Tournament Leader Board) "Hot Seat" Tourney. This online No Limit Hold'em tourney was by invite only. They open it up to top 200 monthly point leaders. Points are collected from placing in online tournaments that run hourly all month long. The more and better you finish, the more points you accumulate. I did fairly well on Friday (Day 1). I ended the day in the top 60. On Saturday however, I gave away most of my chips. Today I started off near the bottom of the remaining 53 players. An early charge had me climbing quickly. Then tragedy. I raised 10000 with Ace King and was quickly called. The flop came 10 10 4. We both checked. The turn card was a King (I was happy). I checked, he bet 25000, I raised all-in, and he called. I was happy untill I saw his ace 10. The river was a 7 and I was eliminated. (I was NOT happy). I did finish in the money, collecting $610. That isn't bad for me since this was a free tournament. I was looking to win my seat for the WSOP. Oh well. Maybe next month.

I play a lot of poker. I started by playing Omaha Hi/Low one night at Bally's casino in Atlantic City, because there were no Blackjack tabels open. I hate Omaha. I lost my shirt. When I got up and started walking around the poker room, I was ready to go back to the room. Before I could leave however, I wanted to check out the back table to see if I knew anyone. I found myself watching a Hold'Em table in a corner. I think I was most drawn to it because of the type of players Texas Hold'Em attracts. The aggressive and quick play made me a fan real quick. I didn't play that night. I read some books and tried it online for free against real players. Soon I had an online account at Pokerstars.com and was playing everyday. For the last 2 years I have been playing in tournaments and online games. I can be found many nights in the poker lounge at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, and almost everyday online at Pokerstars.
